Type of material
Type of material
BEA MICROBIOME CAIRNS is a live microbiological culture, predominantly aerobic and reef-like, selected to promote and maintain the biodiversity of biological surfaces in marine aquariums.
It acts primarily on rocks, corals, biomedia, illuminated surfaces, biofilms, and oxygenated reef zones.
Content
Content
1 sachet of 100 ml of a milky-white live microbial culture, with bacterial biomass, fine particulate matter, and mineral carrier.
Effectiveness
Effectiveness
Effectiveness
- Promotes the microbial colonization of rocks, corals, biomedia, and living surfaces.
- Supports the formation and functionality of aerobic reef biofilms.
- Contributes to the transformation of complex organic matter and biological matrices.
- Helps maintain the diversity and stability of the microbiome on oxygenated surfaces over time.
Features and format
Features and format
1 pouch of 100 ml of milky white/gray live culture, with fine particulate matter from the bacterial biomass and mineral carrier.
Dosage
Dosage
BEA MICROBIOME CAIRNS is a live microbial culture selected to inoculate, enrich, and maintain the aerobic microbiome of biological surfaces in the marine aquarium.
Its reef-like composition is geared toward bacterial communities consistent with live rock, corals, carbonate surfaces, biomedia, thin biofilms, illuminated zones, and environments with oxygenated water and a constant flow.
L’regular intake of MICROBIOME CAIRNS is primarily intended to:
Promote the microbiological biodiversity of living reef surfaces.
Support the biological maturation of rocks, biomedia, and carbonate surfaces.
Promote the formation of functional, diverse biofilms.
Contribute to the breakdown of polysaccharides, algal residues, biological matrices, and complex organic matter.
Promote the occupation of available biological niches and the stability of the microbiome associated with rocks and corals.
MICROBIOME CAIRNS is not a deep-bed product. Its primary niche is exposed, oxygenated surfaces: rocks, coral skeletons, biofilms, corals, biomedia, and illuminated areas of the aquarium.
The formula includes marine bacterial groups associated with biofilms, organic carbon, the carbon and sulfur cycles, and microbial communities that live in relationship with reef organisms.
The product can be used during advanced maturation, after periods of severe microbiological depletion, on dead rock, or following intensive use of UV and ozone.
However, its primary use remains the regular maintenance of the microbiome on reef surfaces through periodic dosing.
MICROBIOME CAIRNS and MICROBIOME LAGOON can be used together: Cairns supports the microbiological maturity of living surfaces, while Lagoon promotes biological depth in deep beds and slow-flow substrates.

- DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: BEA MICROBIOME CAIRNS is not intended exclusively for initial maturation or restoring aquariums with severe imbalances. LRegular use helps support the biodiversity and stability of the reef surface microbiome over time.
After dosing, a slight temporary cloudiness may appear; the skimmer may also briefly produce more foam after being turned back on. These effects are normal and tend to disappear on their own.
Shake vigorously before use to resuspend the bacterial biomass and mineral carrier.
STARTUP AND MATURATION
In a new aquarium, use the product after the initial stabilization phase, approximately 1–2 weeks after startup or after the main nitrification processes are established.Dose 50 ml per 100 liters during advanced startup, maturation, or inoculation of dry rock.
MICROBIOLOGICAL RESTORATION
Dose 50 ml per 100 liters in biologically depleted aquariums, on dry rock, or after periods of intensive UV or ozone use.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Dose 20 ml per 100 liters every 15–30 days.Pour directly into the tank in an area with good circulation, so the culture is distributed across existing rocks, corals, biomedia, sump, refugium, and biofilm.
Keep the circulation and return pumps running. Turn off the skimmer, UV, and ozone for about 30 minutes.
In aquariums without a skimmer, start with half doses.
The frequency may be increased in young aquariums, systems started with dry rock, particularly sterile tanks, high-energy SPS aquariums, or after major technical work.
Prefer small, regular additions to large, occasional doses.

- STORAGE AND WARNINGS
The products are carefully packaged and protected for transport, including during the hottest and coldest seasons.
Keep the bag sealed in a cool, stable place, away from heat and direct light.Shake vigorously before each use to resuspend the bacterial biomass and fine particles.
The milky-white or light gray color, the presence of fine particles, and a slight earthy or sulfurous odor are characteristics consistent with the nature of a live culture and do not necessarily indicate deterioration.
Product not intended for human consumption; keep out of reach of children.
