- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT: BEA MICROBIOME LAGOON is not intended solely for starting an aquarium or restoring depleted systems.
L’Regular use helps sustain the biodiversity and stability of the benthic microbiome over time.
BEA MICROBIOME LAGOON is a live microbial culture selected toinoculate, reactivate, and maintain the microbiome of substrates and colonizable media in marine aquariums.
Its composition is geared toward bacterial communities suited to sand, porous rocks, biomedia, refugiums, biological surfaces in the sump, and microenvironments characterized by slow flow, diffused light, and oxygen gradients.
L’Regular use of BEA MICROBIOME LAGOON is primarily intended to:
- Promote the transformation and detoxification of fine detritus, algal residues, and complex organic matter.
- Support the formation of functional biofilms.
- Promote biological biodiversity in sandy substrates and other media.
- Contribute to the stability of redox gradients and natural processes linked to the sulfur cycle.
- Make sand, biomedia, and porous surfaces more biologically active and contribute to the overall stability of the system.
In a mature substrate, detritus is not merely an accumulation to be removed, but also organic matter that can be transformed, assimilated into microbial biomass, and reintroduced into the aquarium’s food web.
BEA MICROBIOME LAGOON therefore helps create a more vibrant and dynamic substrate, encouraging the establishment of communities suited to benthic environments and areas with slower water turnover.
The product is suitable both for inoculating new sand and biomedia and for reactivating depleted or anoxic substrates and biological media. However, its main use is the regular maintenance of the benthic microbiome through small, periodic additions.
BEA MICROBIOME LAGOON and BEA MICROBIOME CAIRNS can be used together: Lagoon acts primarily on the substrate and slow-flowing media, while Cairns supports the aerobic microbiome of the reef’s living surfaces.

- INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
A slight temporary cloudiness may appear after dosing; the skimmer may also produce more foam for a short time after being restarted. These effects are normal and tend to disappear on their own.
Shake vigorously before use to resuspend the biomass and mineral carriers.
NEW SAND
Use 50 ml per 10 kg of sand, distributing the product evenly over the substrate. Do not rinse.
NEW BIOMEDIA
Use 40 ml per liter of biomedia.Place the biomedia in a container with seawater, add MICROBIOME LAGOON, and leave in contact for at least 30–60 minutes before placing it in the sump or biological compartment.
L’The water used for inoculation can be added to the aquarium, observing the dosage specified for the system’s total volume.
ESTABLISHED SUBSTRATES, SSB, DSB.
Apply the product with a pipette or syringe in several spots across the substrate, avoiding concentrating the entire amount in one area.As a guide, 50–100 ml can be used for a sand bed measuring approximately 45 × 45 cm with a depth of 5 cm, spread over the surface.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Dose 20 ml per 100 liters every 15–30 days, preferably near the sand, biomedia, porous rock, or biological zones in the sump.Keep circulation and return pumps running. Turn off the skimmer, UV, and ozone for about 30 minutes.
In aquariums without a skimmer, start with half doses.
Prefer small, regular additions over large, occasional doses. Frequency can be increased in young or depleted systems and reduced in mature, biologically stable aquariums.

- STORAGE AND WARNINGS
The products are carefully packaged and protected for transport, including during the hottest or coldest seasons.
Keep the bag sealed in a cool, stable place, away from sources of heat.
The presence of phototrophic organisms makes it preferable to store the product in an environment exposed to diffused natural light, a condition that helps preserve its biological balance and full activity.Shake vigorously before each use.
A slight change in appearance, the presence of sediment, or a mild sulfurous odor may be consistent with the nature of the live microbiological culture and the mineral carriers present.
Not intended for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children.
